Good day!

 

We’re glad you have joined us for this stop of our campus tour. Today we are visiting the girls’ dorm.

 

Van Wormer Hall, originally built in 1976 as the boys’ dorm, did not remain the boys’ dorm for long. An increase in the number of girls caused this building to become the girls’ dorm.

 

In addition to the girls’ dorm and parent quarters, this building currently contains the lower learning center, library, and a discipleship classroom.

 

Though originally built with a nearly flat roof (1:12 pitch), a team, in the summer of 2023, came and added a gable roof. This certainly changed the look of the building but also reduced the amount of winter maintenance required.

 

While our girls’ dorm population has been as high as thirty, we currently have six girls in the dorm.

 

We are thankful for the many students who have called this building their “home” while here at NIBS.

This picture started the funding for this building. It was initially intended to be the boys’ dorm.
The building is named in honor of Rev and Mrs. H. C. VanWormer
